Chapter 5 — BlockFlow · Node Reference
5.2.3 Output nodes

Output nodes deliver the assistant’s response — either as composed text or as the result of custom code.
The Output node in the BlockFlow designer.
Output Text node
Sends text-based responses to the user — the voice of the assistant. It:
- displays static or dynamic text;
- supports placeholders replaced with real-time data;
- responds in multiple languages;
- allows basic rich-text formatting;
- works together with input nodes to acknowledge user input.
Assistant "What is your name?"
User "Maria"
Output "Hello, Maria! How can I help you today?"
Output JavaScript node
Generates responses with custom JavaScript rather than templates. It supports:
- custom logic (a greeting based on the time of day);
- real-time processing of input data, variables or API responses;
- conditional output;
- integration with external systems;
- reusable functions defined inside the node.
